CLUB MEETINGS & CONTACT INFO

    The Optimist Club of Ajax has dinner meetings on the first and third Wednesdays of every month (except for July and August) at the McLean Community Centre.  Social time begins at 7:00 pm and the meeting is called to order at 7:30 pm.  The club also has a Board meeting on the second Wednesday of each month.

BINGO FUNDRAISING FOR YOUTH AND COMMUNITY

    Bingo at the Hideaway Bingo Hall, 65 Sunray St. (just north of the Thickson/401 AMC Theatre), Whitby, is the club's major fundraiser.  Bingos are held most (3 of every 4) Sundays from 6:30 pm to 9:45 pm with card selling beginning at 6:00 pm.
 

ANNUAL ACTIVITIES

    In addition to funding to other organizations, the club runs numerous hands-on projects, including:

• Big Brothers Big Sisters Bowling team (Feb.)
• Jr. Golf Tournament (May)
• Respect for Law Night (May)
• Bursary Awards (June)
• Home Week Fun Fair and Family Picnic (June)
• Youth Appreciation Night (Nov.)

    The club is also providing significant funding over ten years towards the McLean Community Centre expansion that opened June 2001 and which includes the Optimist Youth Centre.
