The Optimist Club of Brooklin has a monthly meetings starting at
7:30 pm at The Court at Brooklin. The meetings are held on the second and

BINGO AND NEVADA FUNDRAISING FOR YOUTH AND COMMUNITY
|
Bingo at the Red Barn Bingo Hall, Oshawa,
is the club's major fundraiser. Bingos are on
weekends from 10:15 pm to 1:00 am with card selling beginning at 8:30
pm. Contact us if you’d like to help
out.

In
addition to funding to other organizations, the club runs numerous hands-on projects,
including:
- Respect for Law (May)
- Summer Day Camp (July-Aug.)
- The Summer Day
Camp provides youth ages 5-13 with
an opportunity to spend their summer outdoors in a supervised environment
while enjoying a range of exciting activities. The specific program
activities will be adapted on a weekly basis to meet the needs and
objectives of the current youth. These include soft sports
(Baseball, Frisbee, Soccer, Basketball), Games (Cards, Relays, Board
Games), Exploring Nature (Hikes, River Walks, Observation Tours),
Creative Activities (Play Acting, Crafts, Singing), Instructional
Activities (Skateboarding, Tennis, etc.) and Outings (Ontario Science
Centre, Royal Ontario Museum, Black Creek Pioneer Village, Zoo, Swimming
Pool). The Summer Day Camp will be run at Brooklin Memorial Park
(67 Winchester Rd. E.) weekdays for 9 or 10 weeks during the summer
school break 9:00 am - 4:00 pm with Rain Days in Brooklin Memorial

Discounts for early registrations!
- Pre-Teen Dances (bi-weekly Fridays,
Sept.-May).
- The Pre-Teen
Dances have a Disc Jockey and are fully supervised. Grade 5-8
youths are invited to attend. Cost is $5/person. No in/out
privileges. Doors do not open until 6:45 so parents should not drop
off their youth prior to 6:45.
