CLUB MEETINGS & CONTACT INFO

The Optimist Club of Oshawa has meetings (combined regular membership and Board meeting) on various Tuesdays at 6:30 pm sharp at the Southmead Park Club House, 113 Kawartha Ave., Oshawa.

BINGO FUNDRAISING FOR YOUTH AND COMMUNITY

   Bingo at the Red Barn Bingo Hall, Oshawa, is the club's major fundraiser.  Bingos are on weekends from 10:15 pm to 1:00 am with card selling beginning at 8:30 pm. Contact us if you’d like to help out.

ANNUAL ACTIVITIES

In addition to funding to other organizations, the club runs numerous hands-on projects, including:

• Free Skate & Swim events (Feb.)
• Optimist Hockey Night in Oshawa (Feb.)
• Free Skate & Swim at Oshawa Civic (Feb)
• Hosting of Zone 8 Annual Breakfast (March)
• Hosting the Optimist District's Communication Contest for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing - Cenon (April)
• Respect for Law (May)
• Mushball T-Ball Tournament (Aug.)
• Tots Micro Soccer (Aug)
• Youth Appreciation (Oct.)
• Bill Treadwell Award (Oct.)
• Durham College Athletic Scholarship Awards in Memory of Thomas A. Scero & Sidney Breland (Nov)
• Adopt A Cop (Nov)
• Oshawa Santa Claus Parade (Nov)
• Karate Tournament (Dec)
• Christmas Food Hampers (Dec.)
• Martin Clinic Toy Drive (Dec)

    The club has also provided significant funding over several years towards the Durham "Y" (Mary St., one block north of Bond St.).
