CLUB MEETINGS & CONTACT INFO |
The Optimist Club of Uxbridge has dinner
meetings on the second and third Thursdays of every month (except for July and
August) at the Royal Canadian Legion, 109 Franklin St. Social time begins
at 7:00 pm and the meeting is called to order at 7:30 pm. The club also
has a Board meeting on the second Thursday of each month.

NEVADA, DUCK DERBY AND XMAS TREE FUNDRAISING FOR YOUTH AND
COMMUNITY |
The club has three sources of income to fund youth activities: Nevada ticket
sales at Main Milk Store (182 Main St. N.); and Christmas trees sales from the
first week of December at the Canadian Tire, 327 Toronto St. S.

ANNUAL ACTIVITIES |
In addition to funding to other organizations,
the club runs numerous hands-on projects, including:
- Community Youth Fishing Day, partner (May)
- Respect for Law (May)
- Kids of Steel (July)
- Jr. Golf League (July-Aug.)
- VIP (Values Influence Peers) program and
the distribution of Drug Safety books (Sept.-June)
- Youth Appreciation (Nov.)
- Annual Uxbridge inter-club dinner meeting
with the all Uxbridge service clubs (Nov.)
- Santa Claus Parade float (Dec.)
The club
also provides funding to the Uxbridge Optimist Flyers, a track club that has
100 youths aged 7-17 participating (Sept.-June).
